Help Domestic Violence Survivors By Bringing No-Longer-In-Use Cellphones to the Conference

Verizon Wireless HopeLine program will be collecting no-longer- in-use cellphones and accessories at the 2008 NAPE & Women Work! National Conference.

The items that can be used will be sold for reuse and those without value are disposed of in an environmentally sound way. Proceeds will be used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and nonprofit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.

Development Doctor
The Nonprofit Good Practice Guide

Make sure that you have your basics covered!  Further your skills by visiting the Nonprofit Good Practice Guide at www.npgoodpractice.org.

Although there is a wealth of information available from the Nonprofit Good Practice Guide, the Development Doctor recommends the Financial Management section. Both the Guide and the specific section are good aids for developing a fiscally sound organization.

In each section you will find an archive of subject-related tips, pitfalls, web resources, recommended reading, and a glossary.  You can also search for material by selecting a term from each section's vital skills list.

Please direct all questions to the Development Doctor at thodnett@womenwork.org.  If you have any specific web sites / resources that you use to raise funds, let the doctor know.  Good prescriptions for financial health should be shared!
