Advocacy Day 2008

It's never too soon to start preparing for Advocacy Day 2008, when Women Work! members have the chance to educate their Members of Congress about what it takes to prepare a diverse workforce for high-wage, high-skill careers.

Women Work! has put together a comprehensive toolkit to help you get ready for your visits -- from scheduling your meeting to planning your message.

This kit is NOW AVAILABLE online at the conference web site.

We hope you'll find it helpful as you take advantage of Advocacy Day 2008, an important opportunity to let your federal elected officials know what matters for women's economic equity.

Early Bird Deadline Ends February 15th!

Make sure to register for the NAPE & Women Work! 2008 Conference by February 15th to receive the Early Bird discount.

For further information on registration or the conference in general, visit womenwork.org or call us at (202) 467-6346.

Foundation Center Resources

One of the most difficult things about fundraising can be the amount of time it takes to find funding opportunities.  To save you (and me) some time, The Foundation Center has created the Request for Proposals (RFP) Bulletin!

Sent as a once-a-week email, the RFP Bulletin is a compilation of recently announced RFPs for private and corporate foundations.  The email format is easy to read with critical information such as deadlines and requirements highlighted.  Also, each RFP links back to The Foundation Center website for more information and lists other grant opportunities.

This resource is completely FREE and you can sign up for it here.

For a fundraiser, being well-informed is half the battle. Make sure to take advantage of this and The Foundation Center's other resources.

Please direct all questions to the Development Doctor at thodnett@womenwork.org.  If you have any specific websites/resources that you use to raise funds, let the doctor know.  Good prescriptions for financial health should be shared!
