Bipartisan PACT Act Will Strengthen Families and the Economy
October 7, 2005 -- The Pathways Advancing Career Training (PACT) Act was introduced in the House of Representatives on October 6 by Congresswomen Melissa Hart (R-4th PA) and Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-37th CA). The Act (H.R. 3972) provides funding for education and training programs that help displaced homemakers, single parents and individuals pursuing nontraditional occupations enter and advance in careers that provide economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.

Hurricane Response Must Address Women's Needs
September 16, 2005 -- While the President's proposals to support rebuilding efforts in the wake of hurricane Katrina are significant, it is also crucial that we consider the unique, long-term needs of women and families affected by this tragedy.

February 17, 2005-- Women Work!'s critical new study has found that single mothers and displaced homemakers are not a disappearing phenomenon in the United States. In fact, these family groups are on the increase and likely to be vastly over-represented in the nation's low-paying service jobs.
