Jill Miller
Biographical Sketch
As the President and CEO of Women Work! The National Network for Women's Employment, Jill Miller has worked in Washington for nearly 25 years to advance economic justice and equality for women.
The executive of the nation's largest network of women's employment, training and education programs , serving more than 300,000 women annually , Miller is a respected expert on policy issues affecting unemployed and underemployed women. She oversee the network's policy and program agendas in the areas of job training, pay equity, welfare reform, higher education, career and technical education, child care and civil rights.
Miller is also a recognized leader in the wider women's advocacy and workforce development communities, having served in leadership positions at the local, national and international level, including Chair of the National Coalition on Women and Job Training Chair of the United Nations Expert Panel on Women, Vocational Training and Lifelong Learning and President of the Montgomery County Women's Commission in her home community. In 2003 Women's eNews named her one of 21 Leaders for the 21st Century. She is a member of the class of 2005 of Leadership America, the nation's premier leadership development program for women.
Prior to joining Women Work!, Miller was a senior management consultant on education and employment issues. Her clients included the US Department of Labor, American Association of Community Colleges, State of Washington Department of Employment Security and Navajo Community College. She was also a consultant with RJ Associated/Institute for Women's Concerns. Miller was an Education Specialist for the Navajo Division of Education, Navajo Nation, Arizona.
Miller holds a bachelor's in Philosophy and a Master's in Education from Boston University. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach from the Coaches Training Institute.
